Course Overview
Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is designed for people who've never dived before — a low-commitment way to find out if scuba is for you. The experience includes a short theory briefing, basic skills practice in confined water, and a real open-water dive in Sai Kung.
No diving experience required. No swimming certification needed. As long as you're age 10 or above and medically fit (no major cardiopulmonary conditions, no recent surgery), you can participate. I stay by your side throughout, and the maximum depth is 12 metres.
DSD is the best way to decide whether to pursue the full Open Water Diver course. Many students fall in love after DSD and upgrade to OW immediately. Some discover it's not for them — and that's perfectly fine. Either way, you'll know from real experience, not imagination.
It's a half day to full-day experience that includes all equipment, insurance, and instruction. No hidden fees.

Course Schedule
Actual scheduling adapts to weather and your progress.
Step 1 — First hour
Theory briefing
Cover the basics: pressure, breathing, equalization, hand signals, and safety. Plain language, no pressure. Ask anything.
Step 2 — Second hour
Confined water skills
In a pool or shallow water, practice using the regulator, mask clearing, and buoyancy. Every skill is demonstrated before you try it.
Step 3 — Hours 3-4
Sai Kung open-water dive
Real ocean dive in Sai Kung. I stay beside you the entire time, maximum 12 metres. See soft corals, anemones, clownfish, lobsters, sea urchins, sea stars, small groupers. One tank lasts about 30-40 minutes.

Safety is non-negotiable
DSD safety follows the same strict standards as full PADI courses. Before the experience, I require you to complete a health declaration. If you check any item, I'll ask you to get a doctor's clearance first. This isn't bureaucracy — pressure changes underwater can amplify certain conditions, so knowing in advance protects you.
During the dive, I communicate using standard PADI hand signals and constantly monitor your air, depth, and condition. If you ever feel uncomfortable or want to stop, signal me and I'll immediately bring you back up. I stay within arm's reach the entire time.
If weather conditions are unsuitable (typhoon signals, heavy rain, rough sea), I'll cancel and reschedule unconditionally. Safety always comes before schedule.
