Welcome to Dive with Nic. This policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal data. I've written it in plain language rather than hiding behind legal jargon.

What Information I Collect
What you give me
- Name and contact info shared via WhatsApp, Email, or Instagram DM
- PADI Medical Statement (basic health information) when you enroll
- Emergency contact details provided during courses
What the website collects automatically
- Anonymous analytics via Google Analytics (page views, time on page, referrer)
- Anonymous behavior data via Microsoft Clarity (clicks, scrolling)
- No cookies that track personal identity
How I Use Your Data
- To schedule and coordinate your courses
- To assess whether you can safely dive (based on your health declaration)
- To contact your emergency contact in case of emergency
- To improve website experience (via anonymous analytics)
- With your explicit consent, to share your student story on my IG or website
Who Sees Your Data
Only I (Nic) have access to your personal information. No third-party selling, ever.
Health declarations are kept as required by PADI, and may need to be shared with PADI or insurers in emergency situations or as required by regulation.
WhatsApp conversations are stored locally on your device and mine. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity data is anonymous and cannot be traced to individuals.
How Long I Keep It
- WhatsApp conversations: retained on my device unless you request deletion
- Health declarations: 7 years as required by PADI
- Emergency contact details: deleted within 6 months of course completion
- You can WhatsApp me at any time to access, correct, or delete your personal data
Your Rights
Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO):
- You have the right to access personal data I hold about you
- You have the right to correct inaccurate data
- You have the right to request deletion (except data PADI requires me to retain)
- You have the right to withdraw consent (affecting how I use your data in future)

Policy Updates
If I update this policy, I'll change the "Last Updated" date at the top. Major changes will be communicated to my student community.
